Bamfield is situated on the West Coast of Vancouver island, in the heart of the Pacific Rim National Park. We are surrounded by exceptional nature, world-class fishing and a rich history. Whether you prefer an offshore fishing adventure or an afternoon on the beach, there is something for everyone.

fish

Bamfield is located on the southern tip of Barkley Sound, known for its exceptional beauty and world-class fishing. Many folks who visit the area bring their own boat for a more self-guided experience or you may choose to charter a local guide for the full fishing experience. Halibut, Chinook salmon and Coho salmon are plentiful in our waters, but we also have our fair share of Rockfish, Albacore tuna, Dungeness crab and other species that may be harvested. If you’re a fan of local BC spot prawns, you may want to consider a winter or spring trip to Bamfield!

beach

Bamfield is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! We may be biased but they truly are incredible. Our personal favourite, Brady’s beach, is a short 20 minute walk from the Bamfield Lodge and is a must see during your visit! The east side of Bamfield is home to several other incredible beaches such as Keehha and Pacheena (where the West Coast Trail starts). These east side spots require a quick boat trip across the inlet.

hike

Bamfield is located at the north end of the West Coast Trail, but there is no shortage of other trails and paths throughout the area. Whether you are interested in an overnight venture or just want a quick stroll around the neighbourhood, there is something for everyone.
